Thanks for coming to the open house!

Thanks to all who came out for the garden open house yesterday! A great wrap up of the day is over here on the Ditmas Park blog.

One highlight was the Official Brooklyn Borough Historian leading a walking tour at least twelve deep around Victorian Flatbush. He had just finished telling them about Alvord Dean, the Prospect Park South developer, and they were thrilled to come in and see Dean's former mansion, now our fruit grotto, and donate to our bake sale. We also had a couple of visitors representing both Compost for Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.

A big thanks to all of the members who helped out in every way imaginable: publicity, garden clean up, flier design, plant labeling, photography, table-schlepping, baking, chalking, touring, welcoming, connecting with local blogs, and bringing their extended networks of friends and family.
